Privacy Policy
Local Schema Helper scans the page you are viewing and helps you generate valid structured data (JSON-LD) such as LocalBusiness and FAQPage.
The free version makes no network requests at all. Everything happens in your browser. The Pro version adds two features that do use the network, and both are described in full below.
What the extension does
When you click the extension, it reads the page in the active tab to look for existing structured data (JSON-LD scripts, microdata, FAQ blocks), then shows you a cleaned-up version you can copy and paste into your site. This analysis happens entirely in your browser. Page content is never uploaded to us.
Data we collect
We do not operate a server. We do not collect analytics, tracking data, browsing history, or page content.
There is one exception, and it exists only if you subscribe to Pro:
Subscription email and licence status
Payments are handled by ExtensionPay, which uses Stripe. When you subscribe, ExtensionPay tells the extension whether your subscription is active and provides the email address you used. That email is shown in the extension so you can confirm which account is unlocked, and is stored locally in your browser. We do not receive it on any server of ours, because we do not run one.
We never see your card details. Payment happens on Stripe's checkout page.
Network requests
The free version makes no network requests.
The Pro version makes exactly two kinds:
- Subscription checks. The extension asks extensionpay.com whether your subscription is active. See ExtensionPay's privacy policy and Stripe's privacy policy for how those services handle your data.
- Bulk Scan. If you use the Pro Bulk Scan feature, the extension fetches the URLs you paste into it in order to check each page for schema markup. It requests only the URLs you supply, only when you start a scan, and the page content is analyzed in your browser and discarded. Nothing is sent to us.
Local storage
The extension uses Chrome's storage API to keep, in your browser only:
- Values you typed, such as business name, phone number, and address
- Saved templates for repeat clients
- Bulk scan history
- Your subscription status and email, if you are a Pro subscriber
This stays in your browser. It is not shared with us or anyone else, and you can clear it at any time from the extension.
Permissions
We ask for the minimum permissions needed:
- activeTab — to read the current page, only when you open the extension.
- scripting — to inject the page-analysis script into that tab when you click the extension, so it does not need to run on every page you visit.
- storage — to save your own data locally, as described above.
- Host access (optional) — requested only if you start a Pro Bulk Scan, so the extension can fetch the URLs you listed. It is not requested when you install the extension, and free users are never asked for it. If you decline, every other feature continues to work.
Third parties
We do not sell, rent, or share your data. We do not use it for advertising or any unrelated purpose.
Two service providers are involved in Pro subscriptions only: ExtensionPay (subscription management) and Stripe (payment processing). Both are bound by their own privacy policies.
Changes
If we change what data is handled or add network features, this page will be updated and those calls documented here.
